The pet food recall of 2007 has brought an enormous amount of attention to pet food. With tens of thousands of animals affected by the withdrawal and death of thousands of tainted pet food (see PetConnection database) is not at all surprising that we have questions. What is surprising is that it takes all of us so long to ask these questions.
What have we been feeding our pets all these years? We all, including veterinarians, as I trusted the pet food business altogether. We believed that our pets have always maintained – and our – best interests for the heart. But in the case of large multinational pet food, apparently not.
What we supply has been clearly not been the best for our pets. What we have seen life expectancy is shorter, more disease, cancer and more – no pets healthy. Although genetics play a role, our Pets can be like us. Garbage in .. You know the result.
Ethics of pet food companies aside, the last question to be answer is: what is the best food we can feed our pets? Where diets feed source, or there are companies that still can be trusted? And what about raw food diets of origin?
The answer quickly and easily, regardless of what you choose to do, is this: be informed. Be informed, educated pet owner and know what you're feeding your pet. You are the guardian of your pet. You know your pet better than anyone, including your veterinarian. Your pet's health is ultimately your responsibility – and that definitely includes what you feed your pet.
If you feed diets home, you know clearly the ingredients, and can find the primary sources of food that you buy. If you feed processed foods (canned or croquettes), make sure to know what really happens in that food. Make sure you know very well the company – they have reliable sources of their ingredients, and can prove it.
The other consideration, and I'm hearing this a lot lately, is the simplicity and convenience. The main reason for prepared pet foods became popular in the first place was for convenience. Many of dogs and feline diets you see tend to be rather complicated, and this scares many pet owners away.
I have also heard many pet owners expressed concern about the diets of house they want to ensure that they are 'nutritionally balanced'. And although this is a consideration, the truth is that no is elusive.
And again, what about raw food diets? Raw foods and all of the concerns apparent (founded or unfounded) are definitely the subject of another article entirely, but it's definitely something I recommend to some degree. So where does this leave us?
Ideally, I'd recommend a change to a diet of origin, either raw or cooked. You have the most control (again, as we trust our own sources supply) on the ingredients. You see, every day, exactly what you are feeding their pets.
However, the ideal is not always the most practical for many pet owners. There is also a consideration of the transition of the entire package to the preparation of food to biscuits house. Many pet owners are unsure of how to prepare food properly, especially when it comes to raw foods.
A great way to start, and this is what I'm doing now is to feed a combination of diets of origin and packaging Kibble. Again, make sure the company is confident that produces packaged food – Do your own research! But I have found that this works well for most pet owners. Start with a diet of home you feel comfortable with feeding and once or twice a week, and go from there. To my pets, I feed a homemade diet and preparation, pre-frozen raw food diet. My dog and cat, both love their new diets and are performing very well.
The other benefit of doing a combination that you are providing a varied diet, I definitely recommend something now. No single food – packaging or otherwise – that will be perfect for all pets. By varying the diet nutritional imbalances are composed of a pet can experience a particular diet or another.

It is likely that a) laugh in my face, b) turn and run, or c) ask if I was a raw foodist.
Yes, friends. The average raw foodist consumes 60% of their calories from fat! That's more than half of one daily calories, all fat!
Are you surprised? I know I sure was when I went raw. I could not believe he had people actually promoting a diet high in fat, when all evidence pointed to a healthy diet exactly the opposite!
So why why many raw foodists eat fatty foods so much? What is lowered to the "If It's Raw, It's Healthy" fallacy.
If raw is healthy
Many raw foodists claim that raw fats are much healthier than cooked fats and not lead to problems such as diseases heart disease and atherosclerosis. While it is raw, you can eat as much as avocados, nuts and seeds as you want.
Yes, it is true that raw fats are much better than cooked fats. Fatty foods have been cooked most of the water extracted and many micronutrients along with the water (not to mention all the nutrients that are destroyed by heat itself).

Power on most days, I do not eat any fats and in those days open averaged 5% of my calories from fat. I've never had any adverse reaction to limit my fat intake.
In fact, I have only experienced great benefits in that the limitation focus on fat, such as weight loss, increased energy, deeper sleep, mental, and improve digestion.
Take Action!
You can take action now, simply limit your intake of fatty foods and 15% or less. A good way is to replace these high-calorie foods, low fat sweet fruit.

Vegetarian athletes must carefully plan their diets to consume adequate energy and nutrients. Since vegans exclude all animal proteins, which are absorbed in greater quantity and higher quality protein sources plant, the RDA for the general omnivore population is unlikely to meet their needs. When you start eating more raw foods, you may find you’re not as thirsty or don’t need as much water or other beverages as you normally do. There are several reasons for this. First of all, raw foods, such as raw fruits and vegetables have a higher volume of water in them, so your body is getting the hydration it needs from foods.
This doesn’t mean you should stop drinking water or juices. You don’t want to adopt some of the more radical elements of the raw food trend. First and foremost, listen to your body. It will tell you what it needs. If you’re overweight, sluggish, tired, depressed, your body might be telling you to make some dietary changes, and raw foods might be one way to alleviate some physical disorders.
But if you’re overweight and have symptoms of Type II diabetes, overwhelming thirst can be one symptom. When you start consuming more raw foods, with a higher fiber and moisture content, you may start to lose weight, and that can go a long way to reducing your blood sugars.
If you’re not overweight, or don’t have Type II diabetes, you still might find

We are definitely in search of food we eat, and that means many of us are looking not so great-and many of us are not feeling very well either. We are overweight or obese, diabetic, fatigued, have high blood pressure and cholesterol, and can not even upload a ladder without having to catch my breath.
How can we feel better? Losing weight? And healthier? By making intelligent decisions about what we put in our mouths.
Here are some guidelines for what foods to eat to promote weight loss and maintain good health:

The raw diet: Those who have experience with the raw diet only please!?

my dog is allergic to grass seed in spring, every year it gets so itchy. We try to avoid making the same during the spring, but still seems to affect it. We have it in fish oils and oil codliver and a good raw diet dog food with fresh meat, vegetables and fruits and plenty of extras. Wash it in a special shamposs oatmeal and conditioner that help for a day or so.Though the poor little thing is still really itchy and really disturbing at the time of the night, wondering if any of your other ideas of his, who has worked for you. thank you very much for your guys information, I will definitely be trying things that you suggest. 8 – Tea leaves Raspberry may also help reduce blood pressure. You can have this tea hot or cold. Combine 1 ounce of raspberry leaves to 2 cups of boiling water and cook simmer for 20 minutes. Drink 1 cup a day.

Pork tenderloin is one of my favorite easy cooking protein. It lends itself to all kinds of flavor profiles and requires only that sear and put in a preheated oven for 30 minutes. In the summer I par cook on the grill and finish in the oven.
Of course, if the ginger and sesame are not what you're in the mood as on garlic and herbs or honey mustard? You need only reach for bottles of dressing and a ziplock bag and voila, your pork is marinating.
Ingredients
2 fillets of pork, about 1.5 pounds
Ken Ginger 1 Cup Sesame
1 bag ziplock
2 Tbsp. olive oil for searing
1.5 cups Quinoa
3 Cups water or stock
1.5 pounds fresh asparagus
2 med. Carrots
Method
1. Marinate the pork fillets with overnight wear. I use Ziplock bags to keep it clean.
2. When cooking time also pre-heat the oven to 375A °.
3. Heat smoking olive oil til very hot but not browned and the flesh.
4. Avoid the temptation to turn the meat too soon. For best flavor you want a nice color rich brown on all sides.
**** When you marinate with something containing sugar, like most of dressings, sugar darkens very quickly. Keep an eye on it.
5. Once browned on all sides transfer the meat to a pot with a rack so you can roast evenly. If you do not have a rack, use some carrots or onion slices to keep the meat from the bottom of the pan.
6. Cook for about 30 minutes or until internal temperature is 145A °.
Quinoa
Do this according to package directions, which is usually 2 to 1 ratio of liquid to grain. Season the liquid with salt or other seasoning. It takes about 15 minutes and should be cooked over very low, as it is delicate and does not hold more than cooking.
Carrot Curls
In the photo you'll see some carrot sticks. These are as easy as peeling along the carrot to produce strips. I bleached these in some chicken broth for about 2 minutes.
Asparagus
Overheating the white asparagus in olive oil or butter. Season with salt and pepper or steam.
