Vegetarians: The best way to get protein and energy fast?

A former Foodie raw vegan, I'm vegetarian again. My acupuncturist told me I had to start eating meat, and I did for a while, but I am hooked on vegetables alone again! A problem that had much in the days veganism getting enough protein is constant during the workday. The biggest problem though is energy. I think raw foods give big power supply, but the combination is difficult and requires more time than I have now. I mainly eat vegetables Steamed, premiums, or occasionally fried. What vegan foods will give me the biggest explosion of energy during the day, especially in the morning for breakfast? No energy bars please. Looking seitan, TVP. LOVE Avocados but eating too many of them. What should I eat?

I've been vegetarian about 3 years now, and seitan is a very good bet. It may be hard to find sometimes, however. It is in most major supermarkets, so try a Whole Foods or a health food store. KID'S FAVORITE Sloppy Joes

1 pound lean ground beef
1 / 2 cup chopped onion
1 / 2 cup green pepper chopped
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
Tomato sauce 1 / 4 cup
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 / 2 teaspoon chili powder
1 pepper / 2 teaspoon
1 / powder 2 teaspoons garlic
Sandwich buns (preferably whole wheat)

In a large skillet and cook meat minced onion, and bell pepper over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until meat is completely browned. Drain in a colander and rinse with hot water to remove any excess fat. Return to saucepan. Add tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, pepper and garlic powder. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Spoon onto hamburger buns.

Macaroni and Cheese

2 cups whole wheat macaroni
1 small onion, minced
2 tablespoons butter or margarine and 1 tablespoon margarine
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Salt 1 / 2 teaspoon
1 / 4 teaspoon dry mustard
Pepper 1 / 8 teaspoon
2 cups lowfat milk
1 / 2 pound of grated low-fat processed (such as Velveeta)
3 / 4 cup Fresh whole, the grain breadcrumbs

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare macaroni as directed on package. Melt margarine in a small skillet and saute the onion in margarine until tender. In a small saucepan, over low heat, melt the margarine 1 tbsp. Add the breadcrumbs and sprinkle over the cheese. Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes.

2 cups sugar
Cocoa 1 / 2 cup of
1 / 2 cup butter or oil *
2 / 3 cup evaporated milk
2 eggs, beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup shredded coconut
1 cup chopped walnuts
Vanilla wafers 1 pound or crackers, crushed

Frosting:

2 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
4 tablespoons of oil *
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 to 5 tablespoons evaporated milk

In a large saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa, butter and milk evaporated. Cook the mixture over low heat until butter melts. Increase heat to medium and boil while stirring. A diet guru named Jorge Cruise is increasing in popularity. His articles appear in popular magazines, has been invited to Oprah, and is an author best seller. His latest effort is his 3-Hour Diet Plan website, which offers fully prepared meals, for those of us too busy to review our feeding practices according to their diet plan.

His books include "8 Minutes in the Morning", the "3-Hour Diet Plan" and "12-second sequence." His approach is simple. Eat every three hours. His promise? We're going to get rid of dangerous belly fat.

His theories of fact, are based. Health advocates have suggested for years that eating healthy snacks. In doing so, we replenish the reserves of energy and increase mental capacity.

Mr. Cruise suggests that the release of cortisol (produced by the adrenal glands), is dramatically reduced when we eat more often. He is correct. But why do not we want our bodies produce cortisol when it asks?

The answer is simple. Our body was not designed to perform daily tasks through hormones, alone.

Not only the action of the release of cortisol, a hormone to send messages to other producing organs off the growth, reproduction and immune system, but the adverse side effects long term cortisol production are well documented.

The brain does not work that way. The thyroid is suppressed. Blood sugar can become imbalanced. We can lose bone density or experience decreased muscle tissue. Good for early this year I started having very strange dreams. After two weeks I wrote what I saw in my dreams and I felt like if the past life related more or less. So I started doing a lot of spiritual things like learning to astral travel, meditation, use of ki and the list goes on. It felt good and I wanted to live like this because I thought that could soon be better connected to my subconscious. Many people have asked me this question. And my answer is a resounding … YES!

The problem is that most sports textbooks nutrition and resources tell athletes to eat plenty of carbohydrates like pasta, bread and other grains as a way to maximize their glycogen stores.

The problem with that, however, is that most people are sensitive to these foods. In fact, there is even a debate about whether the human body has evolved enough even to digest grains.

I can tell you from experience that eating a big plate of pasta before a game that makes me feel tired, lethargic, and even makes my body craves simple sugars in a couple of hours.

So how can athletes benefit diet food raw?

Having played professional football and subsisting on pasta and bread, then the transition to more of a raw food diet, I can tell you firsthand that eating more raw food can make a big difference in the performance of its and its ability to recover from exercise.

First, raw foods are full food enzymes. These enzymes facilitate digestion, which means your body does not feel bloated and lethargic after meals. It also means that your body can spend more of their energy, not in digestion, but in the recovery and regeneration!

Secondly, eating more fruits and vegetables, it means that your body will receive a large influx of alkalinity necessary.

Why is it so important to the alkalinity of the athletes (not to mention for all others)? Well, an alkaline environment favors high oxygenation. Given that oxygen is necessary for energy and body movement, the answer must be very clear.

Furthermore, disease can not flourish in alkaline, oxygen rich environment. This has been demonstrated by numerous winners Nobel Prize as Otto Warburg and Linus Pauling.

Oxygen is essential for performance. Alkaline foods (fruits and vegetables) oxygenate your body!

Third, you do not need meat to be strong!

In a study published in the Yale Medical Journal, Professor Irving Fisher, a study in the comparing the strength and resilience of the meat they eat off the vegetarian athletes (both sporting and sedentary) individuals.

The study concluded that of the 3 test groups (meat-eating athletes, vegetarian athletes, and vegetarian sedentary subjects), the vegetarians (including the sedentary group) averaged energy double that of meat-eaters athletics.

There is strong evidence that a diet of meat less favorable to increased resistance.

Similar results have been demonstrated by several studies with Dr. Ioteyko of the Academy of Medicine of Paris, where vegetarian athletes average 2 to 3 times more energy and require fifth the time for recovery from fatigue in comparison with their rivals from meat!

Has anyone been on the raw food diet for beauty purposes. I've been reading the book Tonya Zavasta "Beautiful on Raw" basically has said you will reach its peak of beauty, if you are in the raw diet for one year. I've been on the diet for a week and I have more boys to notice me. My skin is bright my eyes are bright. I know we are all attracted to healthy people, but think it is much deeper? Do you think they are biologically connected to be attracted to people who are very healthy looking (shiny skin, teeth, clear eyes, etc.) So if beauty is superficial, then you can say that raw food diet which causes you look healthy and beautiful to help overcome the negative traits, such as small eyes and a big nose? I must be honest. This is a question that really gets my goat. Every time I hear someone attack the raw diet because it is too "boring" I go crazy!

The truth is that Hulk out!

I have been following a diet low in fat raw vegan for almost 2 years. I can honestly say, without reservations, not There is absolutely nothing boring about raw food diet!

* Deep Breath * Okay, I'm calm now.

Let me explain why raw food diet is totally boring NO.

Variety

The variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds that are is amazing. You have apples, grapes, oranges, bananas, peaches, pears, cantaloupe, romaine lettuce, celery, cucumber, avocado … and I am referring to what is available at your local supermarket store!

In fact, I can almost guarantee that raw foodists eat * more variety than anyone else in a standard American diet … or other diet for that matter.

This is because most people tend to eat only a handful of dishes that become their staple. And these dishes can be very similar.

If you eat meat, food in general, are centered around a protein with some starchy vegetables and perhaps next to greens. If you are from Southern states, the greens are cooked to death in butter and everything gets a nice heapin 'serving of beef sauce drowned in the top. ;)

If you are vegetarian or vegan, attention is generally focused on whole grains or legumes with vegetables. And, of course, each one has their favorite dessert.

But when you live on a diet based on fruits, you have to adjust what you eat to what you can find in your area. Only because you have some favorite fruits does not mean it will always be available.

I would gladly have nothing else to eat mangoes for the rest of my life, but I can not because they are always in season!

Where is the proof?

Still skeptical that a raw diet is really so varied? Here is a list of several different varieties of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds we eat in a given year:

And I'm not talking about dried fatty conglomerates that are made to imitate the taste and texture of cooked dishes. I am talking about simple, delicious, healthy foods that contain few ingredients and take literally minutes together.

There are fruit smoothies, green smoothies, fruit soups, vegetable soups, salads fruit, tasty salads, fruit desserts, sauces, salsas, fruits and even ice cream!

You literally could take only a few ingredients different healthy and have a completely different dish for every meal for a whole week!

Now, how on earth can do a diet like * this * be boring?

Simply can not.
